Monkey Forest

27.09.06 - Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary
(Mandala Wisata Wenara Wana)

I took a trip up to a small town in the hills called "Ubud" on a dodgy old shuttle bus. I am quite sure it had no suspension what so-ever. We went through some pretty poor towns. Full shanty town stuff! These people were living tough in small little houses built out of rubbish. Makes you appreciate what we have in Australia! Ubud is an awesome little town with heaps of wood carvings, art and most important I think........ The monkey forest.

The forest is home to 3 Hindu temples. One being the temple for the dead where cremation cermonies are done. Also it has about 215 local Balinese Macaques. With short tempers!!!!

I asked a Korean guy (using my dodgy Korean language skills) if he could take a photo of me in front of this temple. I was all posed when this monkey jumped on my back and started playing with my head. Scared the crap out of me! Much to the amusment of the Korean girls watching.

These two guys guard the Temple of the Dead. I think they are a type of witch. Love the severed head!

Hi from Bali!!

Hi all! I am settling in and having heaps of fun. I have surfed myself silly so I am having a days rest. I have posted a couple of pics from out and about. Kuta is a pretty seedy place but it does grow on you. There is always something to see or do.

This was my first sunset over Kuta beach. These ships were kites that someone was flying nearby. Looks kinda cool i think!

The local kids are cute. These two were dressed up for a street festival

Farewell From Work Dinner!

12.09.06 - Farewell Dinner

Went to the "Rice Paddy" a Vietnamese restaurant in Surfers Paradise with the crew from work to celebrate me leaving. I am sure they will all be happy to see me go!!! :)

Was an awesome night. Food was great and so was the company. I even scored a new camera as a farewell gift! Am soooooooo stoked!!!!! " CHEERS GUYS "

Visit From Jodie!

09-09-06 Welcome Home Dinner For Jodie!

Jodie arrived from New Zealand at 3pm for an 11 day holiday. Was good to catch up with her again.
We met up with her good friends, and along with Mum & Bob went to Shogun Japanaese restaurant. We all got nicely boozed and sang some terrible kareoke. Was a good laugh!!!
