A Plethora of Portugal Pics

At the end of May Nicola, Alicia and I took a trip to Lisbon in Portugal for a long weekend! Turned out to be a awesome (and painful) 3 days!!

Me at the top of a lift to nowhere. Cool view but a strange thing!!

After my first coffee experience I was slightly put off trying any more Portuguese coffee, but with a name like that this cafe was sure to be good. It was, and it supplied me with my caffeine needs for the entire weekend!!

A local busker. His tiny little dog had a cup with a string in his mouth to put the money in. The dog looked incredibly bored!!

The Portuguese don't mind erecting a monument or two!! They are every where!!

One of many squares around Lisbon. Another monument. A lot of them are long, round and some what phallic. I wonder if they may be compensating???

Lots of pigeons and plenty of opportunity to be crapped upon.

Some cheerful graffiti.

Some more views from the random lift to nowhere. The foot paths are all really beautifully paved.

A garden in the Belem District. On our way to check out the Padrao dos Descobrimentos. (Another big monument tower thing that we couldn't find even though we were sitting in its shadow!!)

Padrao dos Descobrimentos.

Blowing a freakin gale at the top of the tower. But a nice view all the same!!

Torre de Belem. Another tower!! With a awesome park to lounge around in and soak up a bit of sun!!

Lisbon at Night!!

This is the lift to nowhere!! Looks allot more impressive at night!!

We went to Club Lux! A club partly owned by John Malkovich which is supposed to be frequented by such people as Cameron Diaz. Which doesn't actually start getting clients until 2am!!

Doing a fine impression of a random sign.

Me doing a Pedro (who ever he is??) impression in a cool little coastal village called Cascais.

While I lay in random positions around Lisbon in copious amount of pain Nicola and Alicia checked out a cool castle. I may one day go back and see it for myself!!
